Hi Friends,

Months of planning went into this event, held on May 3rd, 2008. Party For The Cure was created to raise funds in order to purchase
2 hospital beds in honour of Dangerous Jim Turley and Joie Hinton. Thanks to Jim's wife Kathy for all her hard work. Thanks also
to the many volunteers who made Party For The Cure such a fun and successful evening. We raised over $18,000 for The Alberta
Cancer Foundation on this night. Thanks also to Bill Cowen for M-Cing the night and taking these great photos. Thanks to BBQ Acres
for their outstanding support and excellent food. Update Feb 2011: Over $32,000 has now been raised to date.

D-Guise were honoured to be able to pay musical tribute to their friends Joie and Jim. All musicians from all the bands, including Keith Zink (sound engineer), donated their entire pay to the event.

Dangerous Freddy took his sax duties seriously for a change.

Dangerous Terry and Dangerous Chuck kept the energy
going.

Dangerous Robin says, "This cowbell's for Jim."

Dangerous Gary testifies...

The dancefloor rocked all night...every single song. Thanks to the over 500 people who came out this night. Your presence was electric, and your donations appreciated.

Robin.

You can see how many people there were. This is only one little angle. There was barely enough food.

Dangerous Freddy on sax again. Since D-Gary has joined
the band, Freddy plays more sax and harmonica.

Rhythm section.

D-Fiddy on harp.

Kathy Turley and Gary Hinton made beautiful speeches about their spouses and the meaning of this gathering. You could hear a pin drop...

Dangerous Gary and Kathy hand over a cheque to the
Alberta Cancer Foundation. The final tally was over $18,000!
Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, or an auction item,
made a donation or bought a beer (oh yeah, even the beer money went to the cause).
